I remember the first time I experienced misgynoir and realised it. In the 9th grade (2013) I was sitting with my biracial friend and this white girl Sam and they were on the topic of interracial relationships. Sam said “I think relationships with a black guy and white girl are so cute! But I don’t like relationships with a black girl and white guy because I feel like the black girl would be the bf in the relationship LOL”. When I heard that I immediately felt very unfeminine and extremely uncomfortable with myself. I am a shy girlie girl yet her statement made me feel so masculine and aggressive. Even though I know now that young white people have more trouble hiding their demonic tendencies, I can’t help but to think about that day whenever I hear “Black girls are unattractive”

We should probably call the police who knows how long it’s been in the river.
I think everyone knew a weird girl obsessed with horses when you were growing up
if you didn’t know a horse girl
you probably were the horse girl
It’s frightening how true this is.
I’m watching that docuseries “Woman” and they sent a non-black journalist to Zambia to cover a story about underage girls being forced into marriage
The journalist is literally sitting in a hut with this 14 year old girl being forced into marrying some 45 year old and the journalist is asking her about school, if she likes school. The girl says “yes I loved school,” then they talk about how she can’t go to school anymore because she’s getting married and the journalist goes “Are you sad that you can’t go back to school” and the girl is like “…obviously”
Like I’m screaming that was such a patronizing sentence, why’re you talking to her like that it’s just so weird she literally just went on about how much she loves school and you gonna ask her if she’s sad that she can’t go back… If you’re not going to help her out of this situation, (child marriage is illegal in Zambia), the least you could do is avoid making her go over shit like this…
Oh–you wouldn’t date a girl who’s ever been a stripper?
In that case, I wouldn’t date a guy who’s ever been to a strip club.Oh–you wouldn’t date a girl who’s ever done porn?
In that case, I wouldn’t date a guy who’s ever watched porn. You’re the reason we exist.
You’re the demand to our supply.
If you disdain sex workers, don’t you dare consume our labor. As they say in the industry, “People jack off with the left hand and point with the right.”
no one looks dumber than a guy who calls a girl ugly after he was just hitting on her
a guy who calls a girl a whore for not sleeping with him is a strong contender
femslash suggestion: the hotline bling girl x the 6 inch girl
one of the things i love about being a black girl with black friends is just how goofy we are. just how much we love to crack jokes and laugh so loud it makes other people uncomfortable. we don’t get that kind of representation. we get the angry black women, the aggressive black women, the serious black women. especially if you’re dark skinned
but being a black girl is so fun and creative and freeing. it’s a side of black girls that you wouldn’t know about if you didn’t get time to know who we are. because society has you believing that only white people can be quirky and unique. and we all know that aint the truth
Love Dollhouse “Can I”
So this music video came up as a youtube ad, and just as I was about to skip it, I started jammin to it. It’s a super cute song for the summer and, as always, I’m here for carefree black girl-ness. And black girl groups need to make a comeback! They goin places, y’all.
